Laura Slagle is the owner of the therapy practice and provides employment and supervision to two talented intern therapists so that more individuals can be served in our community. Laura is a graduate of Chapman University, and lives with her family in Fresno, CA. She provides counseling and psychoptherapy to children, adults, couples, and families in her private practice.
Laura is an experienced speaker and has a passion for providing staff training and parent education for school districts, foster family agencies, adoption groups, churches, and other non-profits.
A long-time professional, Laura has over three decades of experience working with children and families as an educator, administrator, advocate, case manager, and mental health professional.
Laura began her career as a Montessori teacher in Michigan and the Bay Area of California. After becoming a foster and adoptive parent, moving to Fresno, and becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), she became interested in helping children who had experienced trauma and loss.
In 2009, Laura went back to school to get her MA in Psychology from Chapman University with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has also completed additional training in child welfare, couples therapy, and therapeutic parenting.
For the past several years, Laura has been providing psychotherapy in a variety of settings, including non-profit agencies, school districts, and private practice settings.

Cheryl has a comfortable style that helps her clients feel safe. She believes that life is stressful and even positive life experiences such as a new job, new relationship, or even childbirth can lead some people to seek therapy. Her philosophy is that healthy relationships help the healing process. Her passions are helping her clients navigate through difficult life experiences with specialty areas of parenting, bonding and attachment, depression, anxiety, aftermath of childhood trauma, and PTSD.
Cheryl is a longtime professional with a background as a Health Educator in obstetrics. She says working with newborns and their parents has given her a great appreciation for how difficult it can be for moms who experience anxiety and mood disorders during pregnancy or after birth.
She received additional training from Postpartum Support International to be able to focus more in the areas of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and an additional certificate from Fresno State in Foundations of Infant Mental Health.
Cheryl graduated in 2012 with her MS in counseling with a focus on marriage, family and child therapy from the University of Phoenix. She has experience working with couples, individuals, families, children and groups. She is also an accomplished speaker able to present on a variety of topics. Jessica strives to create a safe and nurturing environment to facilitate the therapeutic process in order
to provide genuine healing and wholeness to individuals, couples, and families.
Jessica attended Fresno State and was the President of Chi Sigma Phi, Fresno State chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, counseling academic and professional honor society international. She holds a Master of Arts in
Marriage and Family Therapy. For the past five years, Jessica has been working with children and families in the foster care system and adoptions. Jessica has experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with diverse backgrounds and ranges of concerns.
Jessica interests and areas of focus include serving clients with: trauma and abuse, attachment issues, anger and stress management, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, adolescent issues, and family issues.

Gidai Maaza is a Fresno-based mental health professional with an emphasis on counseling elementary aged children, adolescents, and late adolescents.
Gidai strives to bring an effective blend of experience, clarity, empathy and action to the counseling process in order to experience beneficial outcomes and provide authentic healing and wholeness to individuals, families, and communities. Gidai Maaza earned an Associate degree from Fresno City College, Bachelors of Arts in liberal studies with an emphasis on Psychology from Fresno Pacific University, and Masters of Science in Counseling from University of Phoenix.
Gidai has over 10 years’ experiences in counseling with a wide range of clients in a variety of treatment settings. These include providing counseling under various nonprofit agencies serving prenatal to young adult mental health, addiction work with the Salvation Army Fresno, clients diagnosed w/ emotional disturbance via an I.E.P, and at the University level providing staff/student mental health services.
Gidai has a broad and unique base of experience counseling children and early/late adolescents. Areas of emphasis w/ children include ADD/ADHD, PTSD, oppositional/conduct disorders, schizophrenia/psychosis, developmental delays, varying degrees of trauma, abandonment, dysfunctional family systems, and addiction. Gidai also focuses on identifying conflict in immigrants and first generation youth who are navigating racial and cultural oppression.
Gidai also has a strong base of counseling adults. Specialty areas include varying traumas, PTSD, depression, various mood disorders, ADD/ADHD disorder, abandonment, dysfunctional family systems, and addiction.
Gidai is a firm believer in the holistic approach that it takes a village to heal all individuals seeking counseling. In addition to the above mentioned specialties, Gidai continues to collaborate with various local social service agencies in order to provide best practices care to the whole person.
