As an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, Carmen is a dedicated and compassionate therapist specializing in anxiety, grief, and relationship issues.

She finds immense fulfillment in working with individuals grappling with self-esteem issues, helping them reframe their self-perception. Carmen has a particular knack for assisting clients in transforming their anxiety from an obstacle into a tool for personal growth.

Carmen's therapeutic approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, with an emerging focus on Acceptance Commitment Therapy. Her primary goal is to create a safe and comfortable space for clients, where they can confidently embark on their journey towards acceptance, growth, and change.

Carmen holds a Masters of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Fresno State. Her professional background includes working with individuals with various intellectual disabilities and collaborating with social workers to ensure holistic client care. Carmen also brings valuable experience from a college setting, where she dealt with adjustment issues, relationship concerns, and cultural issues.

In Carmen's words, "The best way out is through". She believes in the power of acceptance and forward movement, rather than avoidance or futile attempts to control the uncontrollable. Carmen's ultimate hope for her clients is to help them understand, communicate, and express their needs. She firmly believes in the importance of advocating for oneself, encapsulated in her favorite quote: "It's never overreacting to ask for what you want and need".

Carmen's mission is to show her clients that they are deserving of having their needs met, and she is committed to guiding them on this empowering journey.
