Therapy and Counseling for Youth

We want the best for our children, but sometimes it can be difficult to get through to them. Let us help.

Children

If you bring your child to us for therapy, they will be cherished, rather than "discussed" or "fixed".

Most of our clinicians work with children, with many having extra education and experience in working with children. We require parents to be involved in the therapy and will help you see your child in a new light.

Laura has worked with children and their families for over 30 years. Her journey first started as a teacher and school administrator. She is also a foster and adoptive parent. She has also further developed her skills with children through being a Court Appointed Special Advocate, Parent Coach, a case manager, and now as a therapist. Her specialty is in working with traumatized children, including those who have experienced significant loss through foster care and/or adoption.

Some of the treatment modalities we use are play therapy, sand tray therapy, milieu therapy, and artistic expression.

Teenagers

Teenagers have unique concerns that may be difficult for parents to understand.

Our non-judgmental, caring approach is especially helpful when working with teens who feel beaten down by peers, school, and society or those who experience anxiety. Our therapists have the unique ability to empathize, maintain confidentiality, and help teens communicate with their parents in a more peaceful, authentic way. We include parents in family sessions or parent groups whenever possible.
