Cheryl has a comfortable style that helps her clients feel safe. She believes that life can be stressful, even during positive life experiences such as a new job, new relationship, or childbirth. These can easily lead some to seek therapy.  Her philosophy is that healthy relationships help the healing process. Helping her clients navigate through difficult life experiences is one of her passions. Her specialty areas include parenting, bonding and attachment, depression, anxiety, aftermath of childhood trauma, and PTSD.

She graduated in 2012 with her MS in counseling with a focus on marriage, family and child therapy from the University of Phoenix. She has experience working with couples, individuals, families, children and groups. She is also an accomplished speaker who can present on numerous topics.

Cheryl received additional training from Postpartum Support International to be able to focus more in the areas of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. She also obtained an additional certificate from Fresno State in Foundations of Infant Mental Health.

She is part of the management team and helps keep things running smoothly at OLFT. She also provides clinical supervision to our Associate Clinicians as well as consultation to our Licensed Clinicians, utilizing her encouraging style of mentoring.

Cheryl has a background as a Health Educator in obstetrics. She says working with newborns and their parents has given her a great appreciation for how difficult it can be for moms who experience anxiety and mood disorders during pregnancy or after birth.
